Joe Kummerl

Coach Kummerl returns to Ohio Prospects for his Third season. Coach Kummerl’s experience began with Walsh Jesuit HS during his time at Kent before graduation and transitioning to an Associate Coach at Kenston where he helped the program to new levels of the State tournament and graduated multiple players to college and junior hockey. In 2021 Joe coached the U18 Ohio Prospects Fall Team

Joe grew up in the Metro Detroit area playing youth hockey for Belle Tire for several years. Following Youth Hockey, Joe attended DeLaSalle High School, a Private Catholic HS where he played both Junior Varsity and Varsity for the program over four years. Following his graduation at age 17 from HS, Joe began playing Independent AAA Hockey for Michigan Jaguars U18 program where he was received opportunities to play Club hockey at Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Kent State. Coach Kummerl Joined Kent State and served as Captain his Junior and Senior year for the program.

Today, Coach Kummerl works in Executive recruiting and lives in Avon Lake with his wife, Maddie.


Chris Richards

Coach Richards has spent 9 years coaching various ages of youth hockey levels and also 5 years coaching for his now local, Canfield High School. Coach Richards spent the last 3 seasons with the Ohio Prospects and will continue to coach the defense this season.

Chris grew up in Cornwall, Ontario before playing Juniors in the MWJHL. He was recruited to play his college hockey at The Ohio State University where he had four successful years. Following college, Chris went to on to play 11 years professionally in the CHL with two of those years as a Player/Assistant Coach.

Today, Chris lives with his Wife Melissa and family in the Youngstown, OH area.


Joe Sposit

Coach Sposit has spent time coaching and consulting at the Youth Hockey levels throughout several summers with the Ohio Hockey Project focusing on skating and shooting skills for young players.

Joe began playing his youth hockey in Parma Ohio before going on to play 4 years at Padua Franciscan High School, where he won a State Championship. After a successful 4 years at Padua, Joe went on to play three years of junior hockey with the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks (CSHL/NA3HL) and the Chicago Hitmen (NAHL). Due to his success at the junior level, he was recruited by Nichols College (NCAA Division 3) where he played 4 years, winning two ECAC Conference championships, and playing in two NCAA tournaments along the way

Today, Coach Sposit works in Executive recruiting and lives in Parma with Girlfriend, Danielle.
